I realized when I started writing this section that IP is a complicated thing and I just really did not want to take the time to explain it "Buffer style".

Buffer has asked that I write a simple primer on connecting to The Internet. Since this web page is about ISDN access we can use ISDN as our WAN (Wide Area Network) of choice though things don't really change much if you use a modem: IP is still IP.
